About the book
This wonderful collection of Sir Robert Menzies’s poems and writings gives us a glimpse into the inner world of Australia’s longest serving Prime Minister – his droll humour, his love of nature, family and Shakespeare and his insights into early twentieth century Australian life and times.
The book includes a foreword by Dr Stephen McInerney, Dean of Studies, and an Associate Professor of Literature at Campion College.
Collected Poems and Other Writings features poems sourced from the Menzies Collection at the University of Melbourne, the Menzies Papers in the National Library of Australia, private family papers, and other published materials.
We thank the Alan and Mary-Louise Archibald Foundation whose generous support made this publication possible.
